FJS Post Series Awards
LINCOLN (October 6th, 2025) – Presented by the UNL PGA Golf Management Program, Nebraska Junior Golf completed the three event 2025 Fall Junior Series (FJS) for high school boys. The FJS was wrapped up on October 5th at Elks CC in Columbus and the post-series awards recognizing the overall Champions as well as the All-Star Team and Captain have been awarded.
The team at the top of the overall series leaderboard is “The Eastside” with 1400 points. The winning squad featured some very talented players, both out of Lincoln. The team members were Carter Honnens and Max Moss. They completed the series in very consistent fashion, winning two of the three events. The champions worst team finish was in the first event of the series at Table Creek, where they finished runner up, shooting 137 (-5). The Eastside won the second event of the series at Jackrabbit Run GC in Grand Island with a series-low team score relative to par of 136 (-8). They won the final event at the challenging Elks CC after firing a team score of 144 (E). The overall series team runner up was composed of Harper Kalin of Yutan and brothers Tommy and Jack Kelley of Omaha, who finished with 1100 points. One of the highlights of the series was the impressive play of Carter Honnens. The high school junior played very solid in each event, never finishing outside of 6th place. He finished 2nd at Table Creek with a 68 (-3), tied for 6th at Jackrabbit Run GC with a 71 (-1) and rounded out the series with a T2 finish at Elks CC with a 70 (-2). Carter was the only player in the entire series who shot under par in all three events. His efforts earned him the title of the overall FJS Individual Champion, making him the captain of the series all-star team. Another highlight was Max Moss shooting the series low round of 65 (-7) at Jackrabbit Run, giving him the individual victory by one stroke. Max had a blistering front nine where he was eight under with six birdies and an eagle. The individual champion at Table Creek was Jaxson Hinze of Waco, firing a 67 (-4). The individual champion at Elks CC to finish the series was Austin Jochum of Bennington, shooting 69 (-3). Team “Strokers” were the team champions at the first event at Table Creek, shooting a score of 136 (-6). Their team members were Miles Elgert and Zack Erstad of Lincoln and Jaxson Hinze of Waco.
The overall FJS All-Star Team was also announced. These are the top 5 finishers in the series individual points race. The team is captained by Lincoln’s Carter Honnens (953 pts). Joining him is teammate Max Moss of Lincoln (903.33 pts), Omaha’s Tye Treadwell (865 pts), Omaha’s Jack Kelley (775 pts) and rounded out by Waco’s Jaxson Hinze (670 pts).

Nebraska Junior Golf is an umbrella organization for all junior programs run by the Nebraska PGA and the NGA and will also include an avenue to other opportunities for juniors to learn and play the game throughout the state. The effort to create a “one-stop shop” for junior golfers and their parents will make it easier for those wanting to get involved in the game to know what opportunities are available.
