18-Hole Point Standings

9-Hole Point Standings

The purpose of the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour's point evaluation system is to establish objective criteria by which NJG and its founding partners can judge the performance of golfers who participate in NJG Tour competitions. The point standings from the NJG Tour Point System are used as a guide to invite members to the season ending NJG Tour Championship and to determine age and gender golfer of the year awards.

18-Hole Division

In 2024 a golfer's standing in the NJG Tour Points Race presented by Mizuno as of July 18th at midnight determines their invitation to the 18-Hole NJG Tour Championship. Roughly 78 young athletes are invited with the distribution of invitations matching each division's percentage of total tour registration. Point totals are made up of a golfer's best 10 finishes throughout the season. Player of the Year awards for each division are for points for the best 10 finishes during the season.

The overall champions of the six Summit Series events presented by Farmers Mutual of Nebraska will receive an automatic bid into the 18-Hole NJG Tour Championship. These invitations will not go against the already allotted spots from the NJG Tour Points Race (i.e. - If you are within the invited number of your division, you will not be removed from the list to accommodate a Summit Series Champion who was not within the invited number)

9-Hole Division

In 2024 a golfer's standing in the NJG Tour Points Race presented by Mizuno (9-Hole Division) as of July 18th at midnight determines their invitation to 9-Hole NJG Tour Championship. Roughly 60 young athletes are invited with the distribution of invitations matching each division's percentage of total tour registration. Point totals are made up of a golfers best 10 finishes throughout the season. Player of the Year Awards for each division are for points for the best 10 finishes during the season.

For the 18-Hole & 9-Hole Divisions, the number of invitations per age group will be determined based on tour registration as of July 2nd each season. The invitation number announced that same day.

The purpose of the Nebraska Golf Association (NGA) junior point evaluation system is to establish objective criteria by which the NGA Junior Committee can judge the performance of junior golfers who participate in state and/or national tournaments beginning the end of March and conclude prior to the middle of October.

The point system is used to determine postseason awards, as well as members of two select team events. Based on the point system, 10 players (5 girls, 5 boys) are part of the annual NGA Junior All-Star Team, a postseason honor, and the top player on each side is recognized with the Nebraska Junior Golfer of the Year/Nebraska Girls’ Golfer of the Year award. The points system is also used to determine the six girls who represent Nebraska in the Girls’ Four-State Matches, an event where the top girls from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri compete in team match play format. On the boys’ side, the points are used to determine the eight boys who represent Nebraska in the Kansas-Nebraska Junior Cup Matches.
