The 2025 NJG Tour Championships Provide Great Play to End the Season

18 and 9 Hole NJG Tour Championship Awards

LINCOLN-OMAHA (July 24th & 25th, 2025) – Presented by FMNE, Nebraska Junior Golf completed the 2025 Summer season by holding its tour championships at the end of July. The 18-hole championship was held in Lincoln at Wilderness Ridge CC on July 24th. The 9-hole championship took place at its familiar site of The Field Club of Omaha on July 25th.

In the 18-hole championship and starting with the Boys 16+ division, Kearney’s Nash Malone is the NJG Tour champion for the second year in a row. He shot even par 71 edging out a stacked leaderboard. In the Girls 16+ division, KayLynn Jorgensen of Minden also earned her second tour championship in a row after carding a 74 (+3). The low round of the day went to Austin Jochum of Bennington, who shot an impressive 68 (-3) making him the Boys 14-15 tour champion over a large and talented division and being only one of three players in red numbers out of all divisions. The Girls 14-15 champion was Anna Midyett also of Bennington, who finished off an impressive season shooting an 81 (+10), winning by five strokes. Grand Island’s Patrick Vilai is the Boys 12-13 tour champion after carding a 76 (+5).

The 9-hole championship had the youngsters starting on both sides. The Girls 9-11 and Boys 9-11 went off the front and the Girls 12-13, Boys 12-13 Int., Girls 7-8 and Boys 7-8 went off the back. There was some tremendous golf played by the youngest members of the tour. Logan Katz of Beatrice won the Boys 12-13 Int. division after a one-hole playoff against Conner Clements of Murdock. They both shot +3 in regulation. Perrey Hernon of Elkhorn won the Girls 12-13 division by shooting 42 (+10) and winning by four shots. In the Boys 9-11 division, 9 holes of golf wasn’t enough. Both Henry Amen of Imperial and Harvey Sautter of York shot 34    (-1) to tie for first. Henry won in the sudden death playoff after one hole. In the Girls 9-11 division, Omaha’s Hannah Bernt came out on top with a score of 46 (+10) winning by a wide margin of nine strokes. Cody Bokowski of Gretna was victorious in the Boys 7-8 division after shooting a 39 (+7) to win by four strokes. Rounding out the 9-holers and finishing on top in the Girls 7-8 division was Kinzley Lynch of St. Paul with a score of 69.

At the conclusion of play, the 2025 Players of the Year were also highlighted and awarded.

About NJG: The newly dubbed ‘Nebraska Junior Golf’ (NJG) continues the great partnership between the two organizations that began with the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour in 2009. Nebraska Junior Golf is an umbrella organization for all junior programs run by the Nebraska PGA and the NGA and will also include an avenue to other opportunities for juniors to learn and play the game throughout the state. The effort to create a “one-stop shop” for junior golfers and their parents will make it easier for those wanting to get involved in the game to know what opportunities are available. Nebraska Junior Golf provides junior golfers of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to learn and play the game of golf.
