TEAM GOLF Mission:

 

TEAM GOLF presented by Five Points Bank is for the junior golfer age 7 up through the summer after HS graduation for all skill levels and golf experience and offers an introduction to tournament play through 9-hole team competitions. TEAM GOLF will serve as a fun, social and less stressful approach to tournament golf providing juniors with knowledge and skills that encourage long term youth development and a lifetime of golf enjoyment.

Who can play TEAM Golf?

TEAM GOLF is perfect for any Junior Golfer ages  -->  Girls & Boys 7-19  (Their age as of July 1st of the season)

Players must be a Nebraska Junior Golfer to be able to enter into events.

Originally designed to serve the beginning golfer with minimum experience, TEAM GOLF can be played by anyone regardless of skill. It is also a great new format for avid golfers to have more fun playing the game of golf.

 

TEAM GOLF initiatives to help new golfers learn the game:

  • Scramble format with a friend
  • Playing against kids of similar age
  • Modified rules such as stroke limits, ability to drop out of a bunker, no out of bounds and more
  • Play from TEE IT FORWARD yardages
  • Opportunities for instruction from PGA Professionals & Associates
  • NJG Staff & Volunteers at all events to aid golfers

 

With PGA Professionals & Associates serving as Head Coaches, instruction can be included at TEAM golf facilities! This ensures your experience with TEAM GOLF will be a great one learning from the experts in the game and playing golf with your friends.

Pricing

TEAM Golfers must be a member of Nebraska Junior Golf. For more information on gaining a membership click HERE. NJG Members will have eligibility for all TEAM GOLF events as well as all applicable NJG Tour stroke play tournaments, events and functions. NJG Members receive a gift pack highlighted on the NJG Benefits page.

Each tournament will cost $40 a team (2 players on a team). TEAM GOLF program charges vary by facility based on instruction and services offered. This allows you to find a program that fits your schedule, budget and desired experience!

Format

  • Teams are made up of 2 players
  • Each two-person team will be play in a scramble format
  • Teams will be two people only, no subs
  • All TEAM Golf events will be 9-hole events only
  • All events will be tee time starts
    • Each event will start with the youngest divisions and work backwards to the older divisions in tee times
  • Events may be limited to a maximum number of teams due to the availability at each facility.
    • NJG does not guarantee any number of teams into an event. All registration will be on a first come first serve basis.
  • We will acknowledge 1st, 2nd and 3rd place to the 3 teams with the lowest 9-hole score in each division.
  • Ties will be broken by a scorecard playoff starting by the #1 handicap hole until the tie is broken
  • Players will compete against other players in their age division
    • Divisions are...
      • Boys/Girls (any combo) ages 7-9
      • Boys/Girls (any combo) ages 10-13
      • Girls 14+
      • Boys 14+
    • If two players, who's ages place them in different divisions, want to play together, they will be required to play in the older of the two divisions.

Highlights of TEAM Golf

  • Team Jerseys featuring your own jersey number and customizable back. Many golfers include their team mascot, host facility or name on the back of the jersey.
  • Ability to form your own team, select a team mascot and team color, customize your jersey and play with your friends.
  • Caddies permitted.
  • Team Training Camps & Practices featuring instruction from PGA Professionals and Associates.
  • More than 10 official TEAM GOLF events run by the professional staff of the NJG, Nebraska PGA and Nebraska Golf Association.
  • Special tees for each age division.
  • Ability to hold scrimmages with other teams.
  • TEAM GOLF Guidelines making golf quick and fun.
  • Season points race to crown the leaders on top of each age division as the TEAM Golf Season Champions after the final season event.

TEAM Golf Championship

There will be no TEAM Golf Championship for the 2021 season.

There will be a points race for all TEAM Golf 2-person teams who participate in the season events. Teams will accumulate points as they compete in events throughout the season and the top team in each age division will be named the TEAM Golf Season Champion. The top three teams will be named the "2021 TEAM Golf All-Stars" with the top team named as co-captains.
